Descriptive Pictures of My Journey

This is a reading nook in my first practicum classroom. This space stuck out to me as the lighting was calm, the books ranged from comics, National Geographic, to novels. This was a gr. 5/6 classroom, and I am very grateful for this experience. The teacher made sure to have calm lighting as it helped regulate the students and herself (me too)!

This is a video of me and my group presenting a science lesson on lava lamps. We had a blast creating this lesson plan and teaching our fellow classmates. I hope that they can teach this in their future classrooms.

Recently I had the privelege to write my own story book. I wrote mine on my partner’s true story about overcoming a spinal injury through adaptive sports. I loved reading my peers’ stories and collaborating through the editing process.

These jars on the right are from a sensory story I created for my language and literacy course. It accompanied the story “The Color Monster.” The jars represented the different emotions.

I wanted to incorporate this picture in my descriptive journey as this truly describes who I am as a teacher candidate. I am passionate about enjoying, connecting and learning from the outdoors. This trail is basically in my backyard. I am so lucky to be able to enjoy the outdoors as a practice of self care when I am not in sschool. It is important for me to fill my cup so that I can continue to fill the students and my colleagues.
